What if the New World isn't so new?
Ask almost any school age child in America today who discovered America and they will almost certainly reply with a resounding "Columbus!". However, today it is a well established fact that the Vikings (depicted here) reached the New World a few centuries before he did sometime between 1000AD and 1300AD. In addition, new research is beginning to surface that may show at least medieval if not ancient travel to the Americas hundreds if not thousands of years before Columbus ever stepped foot on the islands of the West Indies. Who were these people? Some of the answers may surprise you.
